REVS Pilgrim Tour 2024 – Oct 11th-13th – StarterMotor supports REVS for the fourth Pilgrim Tour
REVS is delighted to partner with StarterMotor for its fourth annual Pilgrim Tour this October, which provides car enthusiasts the chance to drive some stunning ancient routes in Wales. This new collaboration will allow two specially nominated automotive enthusiasts to pilot a car from StarterMotor’s Drive-It Fleet, for the duration of the tour, as part of an all-expenses classic motoring adventure.
Dedicated to putting the next generation in the driving seat, StarterMotor works to immerse a younger audience in the vibrant community of historic car enthusiasts by involving them in every aspect of classic motoring. Perfectly in step with REVS’ core values of hospitality, generosity, restoration and integrity, the partnership for the Pilgrim Tour 2024 will see two worthy winners enjoy a heritage vehicle for a timeless drive through the splendour of South Wales this autumn.
With nominations open until 23rd Aug, REVS is asking the wider motoring community to nominate those who would benefit most from such an opportunity. The criteria are simple: people who have faced struggles in their life affecting their wellbeing, and who have never had the opportunity to take part in a vehicle tour.
Joining the drive two experienced StarterMotor Ambassadors, Morgan and James, will also be helping where needed. Morgan said, “I’m really looking forward to joining the REVS Pilgrim Tour in a StarterMotor car, as well as giving technical support to the worthy winners who will be driving the other charity car.”
Proposers can submit names by email to [email protected], with a quick explanation of why joining the Pilgrim Tour would be beneficial to their nomination. The final selection will be made by REVS trustees in early September, so nominations must close by 23rd August.
The two selected guests will be invited to Bicester Heritage on 11th October to collect their classic steed for the weekend, with the opportunity of a tour of the historic site, before a familiarisation briefing and the chance to enjoy some laps around the well-known Bicester Heritage track with the StarterMotor team. Once complete, a convoy of cars and drivers will depart for Carmarthen, South Wales as the adventure gets underway.
The REVS Pilgrim Tour is about restoration, be it people or community, and reflects the true nature of a pilgrimage. Allowing people the chance to take a journey with a purpose, and to reflect on the important things in life, the weekend takes time from busy schedules and daily demands for better wellbeing. The Pilgrim Tour is open to people of faith, no faith and everything in between.
From inception, the REVS Pilgrim Tour has owed its success to the generosity of partners, and this year HERO-ERA joins StarterMotor in helping provide an all-expenses weekend for the two nominees. The world’s foremost global historic motoring events company, HERO-ERA hosts spectacular historic rallies across the globe including Peking to Paris and London to Lisbon. Its Rally for the Ages is an award-winning endeavor, dedicated to encouraging younger enthusiasts into grassroots historic rallying.
StarterMotor is dedicated to nurturing passion, along with developing the necessary skills in young enthusiasts. This is more than a mission; it’s a promise to bridge generations and REVS is delighted to be able to support these aims during the Pilgrim Tour.

This VW Type 3 Squareback auction result left us wondering whether somebody had just bagged themselves a rather interesting old Volkswagen. The 1972 Squareback went under the hammer at Anglia Car Auctions with a £4,000-£6,000 estimate. The bidding ticked along, but eventually everybody stopped. And they stopped before reaching the bottom of the guide. So […]
This Ford Escort 1600 Sport auction result gave us one of the most entertaining bidding battles we’ve filmed for a while. Before the 1979 Mk2 Escort went under the hammer at Anglia Car Auctions, we took a closer look at the car and asked UK Barn Finds followers to predict what it would sell for. […]
This Ford Capri auction result is an interesting indication of just how much enthusiasm remains for early Mk1 Capris. The 1970 Ford Capri 1600 GT XLR certainly wasn’t presented as a pristine example when it went under the hammer at Anglia Car Auctions. It was scruffy, needed restoration or recommissioning, came with no history and […]
