Rare, elegant and sporty British classics set to star at CCA Summer Sale

Classic Car Auctions are to offer some of the best British classics from Jaguar, Rover, Lotus and Triumph as the closing date for their Summer Sale at the Warwickshire Event Centre enters its final week.

Over the last couple of years, CCA has sold several Rover P5Bs, which have all attracted significant interest and commanded very good prices and in 2020 one such car set a world record. Their Summer sale sees another fine example being offered which has undergone a significant restoration programme, completed about two years ago. The full restoration was documented, and a photographic record is included. This very handsome and elegant 1972 Rover is finished in Admiralty Blue with a Cream interior, has had a recent service and ready to be enjoyed. With a guide price of £25,000 to £30,000, this fine-looking car is still a head-turner and will no doubt attract lots of interest.

Gary Dunne CCA Sales Manager commented: “The P5B is synonymous with Margaret Thatcher as she entered Downing Street, a favourite of high-ranking government ministers and other former Prime Ministers. In the last four years, we have offered and sold the very best of Rover P5Bs, breaking the world record three times.”

“These cars are showing that they have been increasing in value. The P5B is like a gentleman’s club on wheels! This example will not disappoint its next owner.”

Another fine British classic being offered is a 1959 Triumph TR3A presented in a two-tone colour scheme of Old English White and Powder Blue. Imported in 2016, this British classic has undergone a chassis up bare metal restoration with the engine re-bored to 2200c and fully rebuilt. With a fully refurbished interior and a Heritage Certificate, over £27,000 has been invested in recent years. This labour of love is being guided at £18,000 to £22,000.

A rare 1970 Lotus Elan + 2S 130 is also included in the Summer sale. Having been subjected to thousands of pounds on investment, including work by Lotus specialists Paul Matty, over £15,000 has been spent across three years and now with very little left to finish is now looking for a new home. Fitted with a new galvanised body, windows out back to gel coat respray and so much more, this rare Lotus is guided at £14,000 to £18,000.

The Jaguar Mark 2 was built between 1959 and 1967 and is most famous for appearing in Inspector Morse. A luxury Sports Saloon that was good looking, it was produced with a 3.4 and a 2.4-litre engine. This particular 1967 2.4 litre car is an original UK right-hand drive Jaguar with the desirable manual gearbox fitted with overdrive. A very original car presented in Opalescent Golden Sand and a Tan leather interior with a guide price of £14,000 to £18,00.

Gary continued: “These are four fantastic British classics, all with so much to offer. Apart from the Rover, the Lotus, Triumph and Jaguar are all guided very similarly giving plenty of options for buyers looking for their next classic.”

“The Summer Sale is looking to be one of our best sales of the year with over 150 cars being consigned. We have one week to go for those who are looking to enter their car in the sale on the 18th June.”

“Our professional photography opportunity is very popular, with many vendors taking this up knowing the benefits it gives in promoting their car.”

The closing date for consigning your car is the 27th May so would urge anyone thinking of consigning their car to get in touch.

If you wish to promote your car further, for £300 including the entry fee CCA offer professional photography.

The Classic Car Auction Summer sale takes place on the 18th June with viewing days on the Thursday and Friday. The Warwickshire Event Centre has plenty of free parking and easily accessed from the M40, M42.
