For a fledgling channel, UK Barn Finds has impressed with its filming and production of what has been described as ‘The Barn Find Of The Decade’. The trilogy has already clocked up over 500,000 views on YouTube.
“Although we registered the name UK Barn Finds on YouTube a few years ago, due to our presence elsewhere on social media, we only started to produce barn find videos in 2023. Despite the late start, they’ve been met with a fantastic reception all over the world. Our subscriber base has jumped from a few hundred people, to around 15,000 ,already.
“People in the trade, and probably many viewers, have been surprised when they find out that we’re not a sponsored channel and that we’re simply a couple who fit YouTube around an already very busy family and business life.
“We were very fortunate that our friends at Anglia Car Auctions invited us to film The David Brown Collection. It was a last-minute call, but I like to think that we rose to the occasion and did the cars proud. It’s been a steep learning curve, both for myself and Claire, who does all the editing and has never had a day’s training on the subject in her life! Without her work, the UK Barn Finds channel wouldn’t exist.
Claire added:
“What a year it’s been. From a quick decision to make a few videos together here on the farm, we’ve both had to adapt to every opportunity that came our way and the growth has been a surprise to me. Personally, I’ve had to learn on the job, by trying my hardest, making mistakes and furious Googling! The David Brown Collection helped immensely, as it exposed us to a wider audience. The praise and advice from viewers, in almost equal measures, came in at a rate of knots.
“I’d like to echo Elton’s thanks to Anglia Car Auctions for the opportunity. My own editing skills have improved since we released those videos, but they still remain our most popular content. This is down to the nature of the collection and the people involved in extracting those amazing cars.”
