London to Brighton Runs 2026: Three Ways to Take Part This May

There’s no shortage of London to Brighton runs in the UK, but this one has quietly carved out a very nice niche.

Taking place on Sunday 31st May 2026, these runs start from Brooklands Museum — the birthplace of British motorsport — and finish on Brighton’s famous Madeira Drive. It’s a proper day out, not just a drive.

And the clever bit? There are three separate runs, meaning pretty much everyone can get involved.

Three runs, three eras

Rather than trying to squeeze everything into one category, this event splits things neatly:

Classic Car Run (Pre-1986)

Open to vehicles over 40 years old, in line with the DVLA Historic classification.

This is where you’ll find the real old-school stuff — the cars that defined everyday motoring in decades gone by. Minis, Cortinas, MGs, Triumphs… the sort of things people genuinely remember using, not just seeing at shows.

Modern Classics Run (1986–2006)

This is arguably where things get interesting.

Cars from this era are still finding their place in the market, but events like this are helping cement their status. Early hot hatches, performance saloons, 90s coupes — all the stuff that’s now firmly in “modern classic” territory.

Kit & Sports Car Run (All ages)

No age limits here.

Anything from a well-built kit car to a lightweight sports car fits the bill. It tends to be one of the more varied runs, and often one of the most entertaining to watch as well.

What the day looks like

All three runs follow the same format:

Once in Brighton, entrants get VIP parking and time to enjoy the day, with a short awards ceremony rounding things off.

It’s not a race — it’s about the experience, the cars, and the atmosphere.

What you get

Entry is £130 for a driver and navigator, and includes:

Plus, of course, the experience itself — which is really what people are there for.

Additional passengers can be added when booking, and under-fives go free.

Booking details

Bookings close on 7th May 2026, so there’s a clear deadline if you’re thinking about it.

Worth doing?

Events like this sit in a nice sweet spot.

They’re organised enough to feel like a proper occasion, but still relaxed enough to actually enjoy the drive and the cars around you.

And with three categories covering everything from pre-1986 classics through to modern classics and kit cars, it opens things up far more than most runs.

If you’ve got something that fits the bill, it’s the sort of event that’s well worth ticking off at least once.
