Enthusiasts of MGs and Austin Healey Sprites to benefit from new insurance schemes thanks to the launch of two new club partnerships
Peter James has announced new partnerships to benefit enthusiasts who own both pre-1956 MG cars and the MG Midget and Austin Healey Sprite models. The partnerships with the MG Octagon Car Club and Midget and Sprite Club will provide a new, exciting and bespoke insurance scheme tailored to owners of MG and Austin Healey Sprite vehicles.
The MG Octagon Car Club has been in existence since 1969 and caters for the owners of pre-1956 MGs including the YB and original TF models.
The Midget and Sprite Club (MASC) was founded by a group of enthusiasts nearly 40 years ago, soon after production of Midgets and Sprites ceased.
The new club schemes have been designed with input at every stage from club volunteers and members to tailor the offering to the specific needs of these MG and Austin Healey Sprite owners. In particular, there have been considerations relating to the specific requirements of the vintage MGs covered by the MG Octagon Car Club and also the huge variety of activities undertaken by owners of the Midgets and Sprites.
In these times where value for money and members’ benefits are crucial to clubs, Peter James Insurance, through these packages, will not only ensure that insurance is truly a reason to remain a member of your chosen club, but also that the scheme is helping the club to invest in new resources, benefits and activities for its members and the preservation of historic MG and Austin Healey Sprites.
The schemes will offer young drivers various levels of cover, including accompanied driver cover for getting involved with the family car. Young enthusiasts who are lucky enough to own their car, and are either active members, offspring of members or vouched for by the club in some way can be covered with their own policy.
Peter James Insurance have an unrivalled reputation for the provision of specialist classic and vintage vehicle insurance having been at the heart of the historic vehicle community for decades. This close relationship gives the team an understanding of the importance of the membership-based organisations that form the backbone of the classic car community.
Clubs must ensure their activities and members’ needs are well funded to offer exclusive membership benefits that add value to their annual subscriptions – and Peter James will be working with both the MG Octagon Car Club and the Midget and Sprite Club to achieve that.
Club members can now benefit from: *
Exclusive rates for club members.
Member-to-member cover – drive another club member’s cars with fully comprehensive cover.
Free salvage retention.
UK & European breakdown cover included at no additional charge.
Free agreed value.
Tools and spare parts cover.
Self-repair option.
Legal expenses cover included.
Dave Youngs, Partnerships Director at Peter James Insurance said, “These two clubs represent two very different eras of MG and therefore require a scheme that is truly tailored to their needs. We have been able to achieve that by working closely with the volunteers who run both clubs to design a scheme based on the exact requirements of members. These new insurance schemes will not only provide competitive insurance cover but will also invest in the clubs to ensure they remain healthy, active and able to invest in members’ benefits.
*Policy benefits, features and discounts may vary and are subject to underwriting criteria.
