Gilbern Invader Estate

From the seller: “I am offering my very rare Gilbern Invader Mk2 Estate

If you are reading this you are probably aware of these rare Welsh cars. I believe only 68 estates were made and 12 are still on the road. Powered by a Ford Essex V6 inside their own body.

I have always wanted a Gilbern since a neighbour owned a Gilbern Genie when I was a child.
I finally got the chance to purchase this one in May with the intention of getting it back on the road. I have now got the opportunity to purchase a Mk3 in good order and so am offering this to someone who will give it the attention it deserves

It had just 3 previous owners since being supplied new by Ace Cars in London
The second owner, a pilot, used it to commute from Wales to Heathrow. He told me that Sir Richard Burton once pulled alongside and, recognising it’s Welsh roots, offered to buy it.
The third owner stored it in the late 80’s
There is lots of paperwork, old sales receipts, old MOT’s etc showing it’s history and the car is known to the Owner’s Club (who are a great source of information and spares)
MOST IMPORTANTLY – there is a V5 in my name. DVLA are making it very difficult to re-register cars without the V5″
