Was this Ford Sierra RS Cosworth an official press car?

There can’t have been many standard Sierras that made it to the hallowed pages of Custom Car magazine, but the Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was something a bit special and we’re wondering if C232 HVW was a press car, as it featured in the February 1986 edition.

This particular Cosworth seems to have vanished since 2004, but these things never get scrapped, do they? Is it hidden away? Is it competing in motor sport and not road-registered? Who knows? Maybe you do….

With retro Ford prices absolutely sky high right now, and with a certain amount of provenance, C232 HVW could be a little goldmine. Will we ever find out?

Please drop us a line on [email protected] if you have any information about this car and we’ll update this page.

UPDATE: thanks to Stephen Robinson, who found a thread on the RetroRides forum about this vehicle being stolen in 2016. He also found what is thought to be the last photo of it, literally being stolen. We’ve posted the photo below.
