We buy our fair share of barn find cars and each and every one throws up a gem or two. Often, cars that have been off the road for years are time capsules. It’s amazing what you find in them!
We collected one such car recently. At some point soon, the car itself will feature on the UK Barn Finds YouTube channel, so please follow us there.
Upon looking inside the car, we saw this very fragile Ford Fiesta MK1 Million carrier bag in the rear footwell! We quickly took a couple of photos as, honestly, we have no idea how long it might last. Sunlight and age had made it very brittle and bits of it had already disintegrated. With a photograph, we’ve at least preserved the memory of it. Stuff like this is important to us.
It’s possible that the carrier bag was made later, although I doubt it, but the Ford Fiesta MK1 Million was launched in 1979. That gives you an idea of how old this carrier bag is!
Maybe , somewhere, somebody has a whole load of these bags. Wouldn’t that be great?
If you ever buy a barn find car, please check it over for artefacts from times gone by. They are well worth preserving.
And if you’ve got a barn find car for sale, fell free to contact us. We may well be interested.
