We love a great barn find back-story and this S1 Turbo beats most, having sat since being towed back from Spain in 2010, at which point it had only covered 3,700 miles!
Seller listing states “I bought this car from Spain in 2010 and a-framed it back 1700 miles. (No towing reg board used). The car has a remarkable 3700 miles on the engine and the speedo shows 5300 factoring in the mileage added when I brought it back to the UK. It has been off the road since 1992 in Spain till 2010 and prior to going out to buy this car I could not get any details of it on the DVLA or other websites.
The whole reason this car was known to me is it came up on a forum that the previous owner was looking for parts. It so happens that whilst returning to the UK the previous owner left the car with his son. Unfortunately in the sons infinite wisdom he decided that instead of buffing the car as the paint had oxidised in the Spanish sun he would rub it down to respray. The back box was cut off for a cherry bomb exhaust which i stupidly changed for a magnex.
The S1 has all the original parts you would expect: Blue HT leads White grill with black surround 4 spoke steering wheel Motorcraft square battery STR32 tape player
I have never tried to start the car let alone drive it. The door seals have perished and are now letting in water. The car has been outside under a cover for 2 years.”
