The Car That Refused to Die – 37 Years in a Hedge

October 9, 2026

Some cars are forgotten in garages or barns. This one spent 37 years in a hedge.

Dating from 1967, it had been sitting outside since 1989, exposed to the British weather and gradually disappearing into the undergrowth.

We hadn’t even intended to buy it. The car came as part of a package deal with another vehicle we actually wanted.

37 Years in a Hedge

With the help of Joe Green Transportation & Recovery, we managed to extract what was left of the car and bring it back to the farm.

Its condition was extraordinary. Rust, rotten bodywork and years of exposure had taken their toll, but we wanted to find out whether there was still any mechanical life left in it.

Will It Run? Will It Drive?

Our new 20-minute YouTube video follows the recovery and what happened when we started working on the car.

There’s no music drowning everything out. Just the sounds of the recovery, tools, mechanical work and the occasional struggle!
