1926 Bentley 3-litre Speed Sport Tourer by Vanden Plas barn find soars to over £168,000 at auction on Saturday 20th July
In what many people are calling a ‘subdued market’ right now, Historics Auctioneers have bucked the trend and shown that barn find cars are often the stars of the show.
While some of us concentrated on the more ‘wallet-friendly’ cars for sale in their recent Windsorview Lakes auction, such as the delightful 1966 Austin Princess 1100 Vanden Plas that seemed a great buy at just under £2,300, others were eyeing up some heftier purchases!
This barn find 1926 Bentley soared to £168,168 at the Historics auction, way beyond its estimate of £75,000-£95,000
The buyer made the following comment:
“I am thrilled to fulfil a lifelong ambition to own a Cricklewood Bentley after a heart-thumping bidding tussle at Historics. I just couldn’t let it go to a new home elsewhere… It should keep me busy for a while!”
We wish the buyer well with the restoration and share his joy that this historic Bentley has now been given the chance to see the open road again.
