Introducing the 1972 GAC Mobylette Campera: A Unique Addition to the UK Barn Finds Collection
At UK Barn Finds, we’re always on the lookout for interesting and unusual vehicles to add to our collection. Recently, we came across a 1972 GAC Mobylette Campera and were immediately drawn to its quirky and charming design.
The GAC Mobylette Campera was first introduced in the 1970’s and was marketed primarily in Europe, where it quickly gained a cult following among adventurous travelers.
Despite its popularity, the GAC Mobylette Campera is a rare find today, which is why we were thrilled to come across one in need of a little love and attention. We purchased it with no paperwork and spent some time getting it registered in the UK, but it was well worth the effort.
Now that it’s roadworthy and fully functional, we’ve been using the GAC Mobylette Campera regularly in nice weather. It’s the perfect vehicle for a leisurely ride around the countryside.
We’re excited to share our experience with this unique vehicle and have created a YouTube video showcasing its features and capabilities. We invite our website visitors to take a look at the video and share their thoughts in the comments section. Have you ever owned one? Or even seen one?
The eagle-eyed among you will notice that we’ve added an ammunition box on the back. This isn’t ‘era correct’, but is a handy addition that enables us to use the bike to pick up a small amount of shopping or, as is more often the case, a nice takeaway meal. It also means that we are able to carry additional fuel and tools for a day out, ‘just in case’.
At UK Barn Finds, we’re always on the hunt for rare and interesting vehicles, and the 1972 GAC Mobylette Campera is just one of many treasures in our collection. We hope you enjoy learning about this unique moped and look forward to sharing more of our finds with you in the future.
