From the seller: “1949 Morgan F-Super 3-wheeler, 2-seat Ford E93A-engined model.
Owned by me for over 50 years and registered with the DVLA.
In 1970, following propshaft failure, a detailed examination of the car progressed to a total disassembly in preparation for restoration. Work commenced in 1971 but ceased after several months due to other commitments. The components of the car were then packed into crates and have been in storage ever since.
The car is complete except for the seat backrest cushion and will need an exhaust, tyres and a battery. It comes with 2 hoods, side-screens, a tonneau cover, new propshaft, new front suspension, new rear springs, refurbished gearbox trunnions and other refurbished and new items. Included in the sale is an additional engine, a Ford 100E with 12V ancilliaries, and there are also parts to convert the front brakes to hydraulic operation using Morris Minor components.
Restoration will involve a full engine overhaul and the bodywork will require the reassembly of the wooden framework, many parts of which have already been duplicated in seasoned ash using the original sections as templates. Additional pieces of ash are included to complete the frame rebuild. Surface rust on the wings and doors is oiled over, consequently they are all very solid and should respond well to blasting and repainting, similarly the chassis.”
