This is the kind of barn find we love to see. Picture perfect, this 1972 Austin 1300 GT has obviously sat for a while and would need extensive work, but it’s now a pretty rare and desirable car, so should have no problem finding a new home…
From the seller: “The car would need a substantial amount of restoration work done to it since it has been sitting idle for around 25 years. Unfortunately like its BL cousins, the Austin 1300 GT was notorious for rusting badly and this example is no exception with corrosion apparent in the common areas such as the sills, floors, bottom of doors, tip of boot, wheel arches and bottom of front windscreen. The subframe has corroded to such an extent it has came apart from main body of car. Under the drivers and front passenger floor mats corrosion is evident as depicted from the photo.”
