There are days when an eBay listing really catches your eye. Today, when I saw this 1986 Rover SD1 3500 Vanden Plas Auto, was one of those days!
From the seller: “Welcome to our auction for this 1986 Rover SD1 3500 Automatic Vanden Plas.
We recently lost a great man. Terry was the epitome of a Rover SD1 expert and enthusiast. He lived and breathed them, they were his passion and pride. He left us with 5 SD1 that we need to dispose of, (one has gone already) 2 garaged and 2 outside cars …along with more parts than I can list, see our other auctions for the other cars.
The parts will be listed at a later date but we have doors, electrics, alloys and tyres exhausts, dashboards, spoilers…the list goes on and on.
This particular car has been sat outside for years and hasn’t been Mot’d in a while, it probably hasn’t turned over in well over a year and has flat tyres.”

When this bright red 1982 Ford Escort XR3 appeared in the catalogue for Anglia Car Auctions, it carried a guide price of £11,000 to £13,000. Plenty of people thought it looked like a lovely, honest Mk3 Escort, but few would have predicted quite what happened once the bidding started. By the time the hammer finally […]
We are used to being contacted about unusual classics, but this one stopped us in our tracks. Back in May, we were sent a single photo of a car that had been standing in a London garage for a very long time. Even from that first image, it was clear this was not going to [&...
Some collections are memorable because of what they are. Others are memorable because of the little details. This 1956 Ford Popular 103E manages to tick both boxes. We collected it earlier this week after receiving a lead through the UK Barn Finds website, and from the moment the garage door opened it was clear this […]
