1983 Ford Capri V8 (was 2.8i)

Last MOT’d in 2009, this is a very interesting Ford Capri that was obviously well loved at some point in its life, having had a V8 transplant and a load of goodies lavished on it…

From the seller: “THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN RESTORED, NEVER BEEN WELDED, PROBABLY HAD SOME PAINT TO THE SIDES AND LOWER FRONT AND REAR, NOT SURE THE BLACK IS ORIGINAL AND THERE ARE NO SIDE STRIPES OR RUBBER TRIM, BUT THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF ANY FILLED REPAIRS. . .

YOU CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT THIS NEEDS, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO FIND OTHER PEOPLES BODGES, I CANNOT FIND ANY.

THIS CAR IS GERMAN BUILT, THEY ARE ALWAYS BETTER, AND MOST OF THE USUAL PLACES ARE ROCK SOLID ORIGINAL.PANEL FIT IS AS ORIGINAL ALL ROUND THE CAR, IT DOES NOT REQUIRE BEING TURNED UPSIDE DOWN, UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAINT THE UNDERSIDE, THIS CAN BE DONE AT HOME,

WHETHER YOU WANT TO RESTORE TO ORIGINAL, RESTOMOD, CUSTOM, TRACK DAY CAR OR A DECENT DAILY RESTORATION, THIS IS A FANTASTIC BASE TO START WITH, IT REALLY LENDS ITSELF TO A MINT ORIGINAL RESTO DESPITE THE WRONG ENGINE, I WOULD IMAGINE IT SOUNDED GREAT WITH THE V8 AND BIG BORE EXHAUST, MAYBE KEEP IT AND RESTORE THE BODY ORIGINAL, THE INTERIOR IS VERY NEARLY THERE ALREADY.

THE INTERIOR IS EXCELLENT, ORIGINAL SHARK GREY RECARO, AND EVERYTHING IS IN GREAT CONDITION, THE DRIVERS SEAT INCLUDED, IT DOES HAVE A FEW INCHES OF FRAYING WEAR, BUT ONLY TO THE PIPING ON THE HIGH POINT OF THE BOLSTER.

THE ORIGINAL RADIO IS STILL IN PLACE SO NOT CUT FOR A DIN TYPE STEREO.

THE ORIGINAL DARK GREY HEADLINING IS IN GREAT CONDITION, INCLUDING THE SUNROOF PANEL.
PARCEL SHELF IS NOT GREAT BUT THERE, AND THERE IS ONE TINY CRACK IN THE DASH, RIGHT NEXT TO THE RAISED POD, IF I FILLED IT YOU WOULD NOT LOOK FOR IT OR SEE IT, EASY FIXES ONLY INSIDE.”
