Just arrived into stock with us this week is this super rare early carburettor (non injection) Escort XR3.
Originally a UK supplied vehicle it has spent the last 10 years in the Isle Of Man so comes complete with UK and Isle of Man paperwork. It has covered 107k miles and comes with a history folder and previous MOT’s etc.
According to the last owner who I purchased it from it was restored in 2010 including a rebuild of the turbo at the same time and some metalwork/welding also before a repaint.
The car was not used for a number of years and although a tidy looking car overall it will require a repaint as there is some surface corrosion here and there (but nothing structural) . The engine runs well and all mechanical functions are working correcting but again I would also recommend a recommissioning – fresh service, fluids, plugs etc as it has sat largely unused for a number of years.
This is a very rare early xr3 that preceded the factory series 1 rs turbo’s . It also sports genuine RS alloy wheels.
It gives someone a great opportunity to purchase a very well priced xr3 that is not totally rotten and requiring lots of welding – a rarity in itself!”
