From the seller: “1978 pre he xjs last on the road in 1999.

aftermarket wheels with very good looking tyres and the side pin stripe from a HE xjs it is the 5.3 V12 which does run with a good battery and a little easy start to get it going. The coolant system will need going over as there’s signs of leaking and it starts to overheat.

it has some welding needed to be done on the passenger side floor and jacking points possibly one of the sills. Also there is a fuel pipe leaking to the rear. (Typical old xjs hoses) no sign of fuel leaking in the engine bay. over all for a 78 xjs it’s pretty solid has been dry stored in a garage attached to a house since 1999.

The gearbox will need a service as it moves but it doesnt move properly which is to be expected after being stood for so long. It drove fine before being parked up in 1999 and the engine still sounds good after all these years even with old petrol topped up with new. Private plate included in sale. ”
