Our Raleigh Chopper competition has not quite gone the way we expected. We genuinely thought these three Raleigh Choppers would cause more trouble than this.
When we launched our first ever Raffall competition, we expected a flood of entries. After all, we’re giving away not one, but three Raleigh Choppers. A Mk1, a Mk2 and a Mk3.
Instead, with just days remaining, they’re still sitting here at UK Barn Finds looking for their new owners.
Our First Raffall Competition
To be fair, maybe that’s our fault.
Most people follow UK Barn Finds for rusty old Land Rovers, forgotten classics, motorcycles dragged out of sheds and the occasional automotive disaster. Launching a competition centred around three bicycles might have been a bit of a gamble.
That said, these aren’t just any bicycles.
For many people of a certain age, the Raleigh Chopper was the bike. The one you wanted. The one your mate had. The one you spent years trying to persuade your parents to buy.
Why The Raleigh Chopper Still Matters
The Chopper wasn’t the fastest bike and it certainly wasn’t the most practical.
What it did have was character.
The long saddle, high-rise handlebars and gear lever gave it a look unlike anything else on the road. Every kid wanted one, and if you were lucky enough to own one, you probably spent half your childhood riding it.
Over the last few weeks we’ve shared memories of cardboard in spokes, makeshift ramps, carrying passengers when you definitely shouldn’t have been and all the other things that seemed perfectly normal at the time.
The response has reminded us just how many people still have a soft spot for these iconic bikes.
Three Bikes, Three Winners
Unlike most competitions, there won’t be just one winner.
When the competition closes, three separate entrants will each take home a Raleigh Chopper.
First prize is the green Mk1 Raleigh Chopper.
Second prize is the silver Mk2 Raleigh Chopper.
Third prize is the purple Mk3 Raleigh Chopper.
All three bikes are pictured here alongside one of our favourite old barn finds, which felt like a fitting backdrop for a UK Barn Finds competition.
Enter The Competition
If you’d like a chance to win one of these three Raleigh Choppers, you can enter the competition here:
Entries cost £1 each and the competition closes on Sunday 7th June 2026.
Entries Close On Sunday
We’ve only got a few days left now.
If you’ve been following along and thinking about entering, now is probably the time.
Whatever happens, it’s been a fascinating first Raffall experience for us and we’d like to thank everyone who has supported it so far.
Good luck to everyone who has entered.
