A 1975 Vauxhall HP Firenza Droopsnoot went under the hammer — and this was one we really had our eye on.
It’s not often you see one of these come up, and with 40 years of long-term ownership behind it, this example had plenty going for it.

Before the auction, there was no shortage of attention around the car. Plenty of people were taking a close look — but the real question was whether that interest would turn into serious bidding.
Guided at £30,000–£35,000, this wasn’t a cheap car to begin with — and that always narrows the field slightly.
But once it went under the hammer, it became clear there were genuine buyers in the room.
The bidding moved well, with no real hesitation — a good sign that the right people were engaged.
The Firenza Droopsnoot sits in a very different place to many other classics.
It’s rare, distinctive, and doesn’t follow the usual “fast Ford” path — which makes results like this even more interesting.
You don’t see them come up often, and when they do, they tend to attract buyers who know exactly what they’re looking at.
This particular car was sold by Iconic Auctioneers at the Race Retro sale in 2026.

It sold well — a strong figure for a car that doesn’t always follow mainstream trends.
